Why is it when light shines in a dark world it is still dark? Part I

Darkness is a good analogy to describe life in a world where evil seems to predominate. The modifier ‘seems’ must be used for two reasons: One, we must use it to describe the awareness of its slow historical development through a multitude of events, decisions, policies, actions, attitudes and persons. Two, the limitations of human perception and knowledge render an accurate assessment of the state of the world doubtful. Without vast historical comprehension of its development in society, our vision of the present moral state of the world is more like a snapshot. A panoramic picture seemingly of all aspects of society and its degradation is but fractured scenes of pixels and many empty spaces. Those empty spaces of reality do not seem to be there. The panoramic scene seems a consistent whole. That is the deception of reality, especially of the reality called realism.

See Part II and Part III.
